Quotes

Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no feet but yours, no hands but yours. Yours are the eyes through which the compassion of Christ is to look out on a hurting world. Yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good. Yours are the hands with which he is to bless all now. St. Teresa of Avila.

Nothing brings me more happiness than trying to help the most vulnerable people in society. It is a goal and an essential part of my life, a kind of destiny. Whoever is in distress can call on me and I will come running, wherever they are. Diana, Princess of Wales, June 1997.

Jesus is the truth to be told. Jesus is the life to be lived. Jesus is the love to be loved. Jesus is the light to be lit. Let us love Jesus with an undivided love, and others as He loves you and me. Mother Theresa 1992

About our church

Anstey Methodist Church is a medium sized church situated in a large village in Leicestershire, UK, serving God and the people of Anstey and its surrounding area. Our modernised building is used nearly every day of the week as we seek to offer the love of Jesus to all. The Da Vinci Code

Right from page one of the book (and it is 600 pages in length in paperback form), I found that I could hardly put it down. Dan Brown's method of stringing together unrelated facts into a so-called solution to the centuries old mystery of the Holy Grail makes a jolly good read, fascinating, absorbing, intriguing. BUT it does need to be taken purely as an adventure novel.Read more ...

The Lord deal kindly with you

We live in a fragmented and divided world. Many things separate us from each other. Race, colour, creed, age, ethnic origins, prejudices, social standing, financial wealth or poverty, war, greed, selfishness ... to name but a few. And many of these things separate us from the love of God.In the following bible reading, Naomi was grief-stricken. Her husband and both sons had died. She ...Read more ...

Preachers and preaching

In this article I thought I would try something completely different to my normal bible studies and stories. After all, I am sure that God is not always serious, and I can imagine him sometimes having a quiet chuckle at the things some of his servants get up to - so - here is my tongue in cheek look at preachers and preaching, a subject dear to my heart as I am a Methodist Local ...Read more ...
